I will be happy to take your name if you are looking for that special "pet" I rarely have something available "NOW" but will contact those who have expressed interest and have asked me to keep them in mind for a pet.
What is the difference between a "Companion Pom" and a show pom.
First of all let me start by saying that even as an experienced breeder, I cannot always tell a "show" puppy from a "pet" puppy when they are born or as very young babies.
Each litter of puppies are bred with the intention of producing my next show prospects. Careful evaluation is done on all of these puppies to see which I feel are "show " and which I feel are better as Companions. Just because a puppy has champions in the pedigree does not mean they will be champions themselves.
Regardless of "Show" or "pet" they are all born in the same litters, treated the same way and are all in excellent health with happy outgoing dispositions.
I prefer all of my Poms live in a smoke free home. I will not sell my Poms to homes with children under 15 years of age.
My companion Poms are sold on Limited Canadian Kennel Club registration.
I will only sell my show-breeding poms to experienced show homes, not just as breeding animals.
I do not send my companion puppies to a new home until they are close to 4 months of age or OLDER. This is so I have enough time to evaluate each and every puppy to ensure I keep the the best for show and offer the others as companions and to ensure the appropriate immunizations can be given at the proper time.
I have never had one person say they have not "bonded" with an older pom puppy. Infact the opposite is true. My poms leave my home well adjusted and over the worst of the puppy stage. My vets will both be happy to tell you this makes for the BEST temperaments they have ever seen on small dogs. My poms are all happy, cheerful outgoing little souls. This comes form the right start as well as great genetics.
At 4 - 6 months and older, I am sure my pups can go out into the world as happy, healthy, well adjusted tiny canine citizens. Also by this age they are old enough for 2 immunizations and large enough to be microchipped and most often spayed or neutered.
As adults my Poms are very small and I am always getting asked how old my puppy is when I am out with one of my full grown mature dogs.
I understand how anxious people are about receiving a new puppy, It is my job to ensure any puppy that leaves my home is mature enough and large enough to make the move to a new home.
This puppy is 7 weeks old when the picture was taken. You can see how very small he is. You can see he is too small for immunizations and microchipping, he is still needing his mom and his siblings and is not ready to leave to a new home.
this puppy is now an adult and living with his "forever family"
